Олимпиадное движение во всем мире набирает популярность, привлекая внимание школьников как надежный инструмент саморазвития и изучения предметов на повышенном уровне. Проблемой исследования выступает анализ зарубежных практик организации интеллектуальных соревнований для школьников в контексте развития личности и творческих способностей учащихся. В фокусе нашего внимания оказывается национальная экосистема реализации интеллектуальных состязаний в США. Цель нашего исследования преломляется в выявлении особенностей реализации данных конкурсных мероприятий в американской традиции, в то время как актуальность обусловлена успехами сборных США на международных олимпиадах.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Методологически мы опираемся на принципы системного, деятельностного и культурологического подходов. Среди использованных нами теоретических методов – изучение научной литературы по теме, в том числе на английском языке; обобщение, категоризация, сравнительный анализ, а также анализ законных актов США в области образования, и веб-сайтов операторов проведения интеллектуальных состязаний.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты исследования</title><p>Результаты исследования. В результате исследования установлен ряд особенностей американской системы отбора и развития талантливых школьников в школе, среди уникальных черт – децентрализация организации конкурсов и широкое внедрение командных соревнований.</p></sec><sec><title>Выводы</title><p>Выводы. Новизна исследования преломляется в изучении особенностей конкурсного и олимпиадного движения в США на современном этапе. Теоретическая значимость заключается в приращении педагогического знания о зарубежном образовании в сфере реализации олимпиадного движения, на практическом уровне полученные данные могут адаптироваться и внедряться в отечественные практики поиска талантливой молодежи.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Importance</title><p>Importance. The Olympiad movement is gaining popularity around the world, attracting the attention of schoolchildren as a reliable tool for self-development and study of subjects at an increased level. The problem of the study is the analysis of foreign practices of organizing intellectual competitions for schoolchildren, in the context of the development of creative abilities of students. The focus of our attention is the national ecosystem of the implementation of intellectual competitions in the United States. The purpose of our study is refracted in identifying the peculiarities of the implementation of these competitive events in the American tradition, while the relevance is due to the success of the US teams at international olympiads.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. Methodologically, we rely on the principles of systemic, de-factional and cultural approaches. Among the theoretical methods we used are the study of scientific literature on the topic, including in English; generalization, categorization, comparative analysis, as well as analysis of US legal acts in the field of education, and websites of operators of intellectual competitions.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. As a result of the study, a number of features of the American system for the selection and development of talented schoolchildren in school were established, among the features were the decentralization of the organization of competitions and the widespread introduction of team competitions.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. The novelty of the study is refracted in the study of the features of the competitive and Olympiad movement in the United States at the present stage.
