Abstract

Adaptive sport has a multi function focus on all-round development of the personality of the person with disabilities, provides a solution corrective, compensatory and wellness objectives to overcome the defects of physical development, compensation, deficiencies in motor and mental spheres. One of the main tasks of modern society towards people with disabilities is to maximize their adaptation to independent living, employment, master the profession. The problem of the normal functioning and engagement in society of the person with disabilities involves the enlargement process and the enhancement of social relations, creating a favourable environment to achieve maximum compatibility of a disabled person with a natural social environment. Integration of disabled persons in society can only be done through their development and inclusion in various socially meaningful activities. Revitalization of the work with people with disabilities by means of adaptive sport has great social value and contributes to the humanization of the society and, first and foremost, to change attitudes towards this population group. Adaptive sports-mass and physical-improving work with persons with disabilities, in all regions should be aimed at increasing the number of people going in without pre-selection and for all age groups disabled population. The main objective of these adaptive sports activities to stimulate the desire of people with disabilities, and persons with disabilities to daily physical and sporting activities, and further motivate and engage them in competitive sports and activities.
