THE ESSENCE AND SPECIFICS OF CAREER SELF-DETERMINATION OF STUDENTS’ YOUTH

Abstract

Career self-determination of students is considered. The essence of the definition is considered from the clarification of such basic concepts as: career, career strategy, career path, career self-determination. The concepts of “career”, “career strategies of young people”, “career self-determination” from the point of view of sociology, psychology, pedagogy and socio-cultural activities are defined. The process of career self-determination of the student youth as an individual’s ability to mind-blowing activities focused on the search for career trajectories, a conscious choice of the image of professional activity, stages of career and technology for their career goals achievement are characterized. Structural components of career self-determination such as: career orientation, career prediction, career competency, career self-assessment, cognitive activity are considered. Stages of career self-determination of students, including the development of professional and personal skills of the individual are identified. The modern concept of modeling the process of career self-determination, which involves personal creativity, co-creativity, creativity within the group or organization is studied. Student government is seen as an effective environment for career self-determination of young people, activating personal potential in the learning process, by integrating into the process of management and governance of the University. The key vectors of development of student self-governance in the context of development of career strategies are identifies.
