Abstract

Importance. Practice requests indicate the need to teach children with autism spectrum disorder complex-coordinated motor actions in athletics disciplines, starting from the initial training stage. The problem is caused by an irrational distribution of time for sports training and the lack of teaching methods and guidelines for forming a rational structure of motor actions. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate the need to redistribute time for sports training and develop a methodology for teaching complex-coordinated motor actions to children with autism spectrum disorder at the initial training stage in athletics.

Materials and Methods. Based on the analysis of scientific and methodological literature and the results of a questionnaire survey of specialists on the problem of teaching complexcoordinated motor actions to children with ASD, an analysis is conducted of the ratio of types of sports training recommended by the Federal Standard of Sports Training for the Sport of “Sports for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities” (PID) for track and field disciplines at the initial training stage.

Results and Discussion. It has been determined that in order for children with ASD to successfully master complex-coordinated motor actions in most disciplines of athletics, it is necessary to optimize the learning process. This can be achieved by increasing the amount of technical, special physical, and psychological training in the educational and training process, as well as by adapting the tools and methods used based on the specific characteristics of the disease.

Conclusion. The conducted research allows to substantiate the need to develop a methodology for teaching complex-coordinated motor actions to children with autism spectrum disorder at the stage of initial training in athletics.
